Abu Dhabi and United Arab Emirates (UAE): The local currency is the dirham (AED) We recommend that you bring a credit card (Visa, Diners, Master Card or American Express). The US Dollars ($) are the easiest to exchange as the UAE Dirham is pegged to the dollar. Euros (€) and Swiss francs (CHF) can also be exchanged at various local banks or exchange offices. US dollar traveler's checks are also recommended.
