The Batu Caves is a limestone hill, which has a series of caves and cave temples, in the Gombak district, 13 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu or Batu River, which flows past the hill. Batu Caves is also the name of the nearby village. The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
FRIM (Forestry Research Insitute of Malaysia ) Canopy Walkway
This Canopy Walkway were built for Scientific study of upper rainforest flora and fauna, it was constructed in 1992. The Canopy is 30 meters above ground and it's 200 meters long in length. FRIM offers all walks of life a back-to-nature experience whilst enjoying the flora, fauna, landscapes and the remains of an old Orang Asli settlement. A waterfall and river cutting through this forest reserve adds serenity to this luxuriant landscape. .
Canopy operating hours are subject to weather conditions (The canopy walkway will be closed should it rains and it might re-open within 2 hours once it has subsided and the weather is permissible. Canopy Walkway is closed on Monday & Friday.
